Be Original!

Here's a little pet peeve of mine:

I think it's corny when the media or event planners adapt the name of some previous event to show how big of a deal the new thing is supposed to be.

For example, adapting the name of the Watergate scandal to something today like Libbygate.

Other examples include adaptations of Lollapalooza (like Ya'llapalooza), Woodstock (Swampstock), etc.

It's dumb. Don't do it.

    Oh shoot. Now I've got to scrap my plans for Charm Aid - the huge charity concert to raise money and awareness for better manners in America.

    Back to the ol' drawing board.
