Sounds like there was a lawsuit somewhere...

Below are ACTUAL instructions from our recent Farberware 12" skillet wedding present. Note that the following are the very first instructions after the obligatory "Thank you for choosing our cookware.....These instructions are for your general safety....blah blah."

"Safety: Keep small children away from the stove while you are cooking. Be careful around the stove as heat, steam and splatter can cause burns. Fumes from everyday cooking can be harmful to your bird, particularly smoke from burning foods. Overheating cooking sprays, oils, fats, margarine and butter may create dangerous fumes which a bird's respiratory system cannot handle. Scorched plastic handles or utensils can also contaminate the air and endanger birds. Nonstick cookware with polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) coating can also emit fumes harmful to birds."


I tought I taw a teflon pan -- aghch! RIP Tweety.
